Mobile advertising is on the fast lane, according to a current assessment of the online advertising market. But ads on smartphones or tablets are still contributing comparatively little to the total digital advertising revenue, as shown in a study of selected German news portals. For example, 41 percent of traffic on Bild.de is due to mobile page views. At the same time, the online version of the paper published by Springer generates 20 percent of its gross revenue through turnover, which can be traced back to mobile commercialization. This means that mobile customer contact is still worth much less or is not monetized as well as desktop contact.
